Toray Saehan of South Korea has established a joint venture company, TPN (Toray Polytech Co., Ltd), to embark on the production of polypropylene spunbond non-woven fabrics in China. Fifty percent of the new company is owned by Toray Saehan Inc., 40% by Toray and 10% by Toray China. The new facility will begin producing non-wovens, with an initial capacity of 18,000 tons, in February of 2008. Based in South Korea, TSI is a joint venture of Toray Industries and Saehan Industries. It produces approximately 49,000 tons of spunbonded non-wovens annually .
